Since the cosmetic butters are naturally derived from the extracts of numerous natural sources including seeds/kernels, beans, and nuts, skin sensitivities are extremely rare. The butters themselves don’t contain water, they have a thick, nourishing consistency and can help lock in skin’s moisture and develop the moisture barrier. In addition to their moisturising benefits, they can also have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, and often contain vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids.

Cocoa Butter: Cocoa butter is extracted from cacao seeds, also known as cocoa beans. Cocoa butter is a healing powerhouse; the combination of strong antioxidants and saturated fats ensure that the skin is both detoxified and fully hydrated. The cocoa mass polyphenol (CMP) in cocoa butter which helps ease dermatitis or rashes. Cocoa butter has a distinctive, natural scent very similar to that of chocolate, and helps “lock-in” moisture for long-term hydration. 

Shea Butter: Shea butter is also known as karite butter. It’s extracted from the nuts of the karite tree found in West and Central Africa. It has very powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which makes it a fantastic anti-aging ingredient, and a great treatment option for those with dry skin or eczema. Shea Butter is a good source of vitamins A and E, which strengthen your skin and help it repair damage.
